Paying and changing plans

Payments are handled by Paddle, our payment provider. Card details are entered on Paddle's checkout and never touch Earmarkr's servers — we don't see or store them.

Change your plan or update your card from the billing section on your profile. Switching between monthly and yearly takes effect at the change, with the difference prorated by Paddle.

The beta discount

Early accounts on the beta discount pay 50% off for life. It's shown on your subscription as a badge.

The discount is tied to the subscription. It survives plan and interval changes; it doesn't survive cancelling and re-subscribing later.

Cancelling

Cancel from the billing section. Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for — the field changes from "Renews on" to "Cancels on" — and you keep full access until then. There's no partial refund for the remainder of a period.

Cancelling does not delete your data. See deleting your account if that's what you want.

If a payment fails

Your account moves to a read-only state: you can still see everything, but you can't record transactions or change your budget until billing is resolved. Nothing is deleted, and your bank connections stay linked.

Update your card from the billing screen and access is restored as soon as the payment clears.

Payments usually fail for ordinary reasons — an expired card, a bank declining an unfamiliar merchant. If updating the card doesn't clear it, contact support.

Refunds

Refund terms are on the refund policy page.

Free accounts

If your account is on a free tier, or was set up as a courtesy account, there's no subscription to manage — the billing section will say so, and nothing will be charged.
