Deleting removes your account and all its data permanently. It's under Danger zone on your profile.
Before you delete
Cancelling a subscription and deleting an account are different things. If you just don't want to keep paying, cancel instead — your data stays and you can come back.
Export anything you want to keep. Once the grace period ends, nothing can be recovered. There is no backup we can restore from — that's what "deleted" means here.
Useful things to take with you:
- Reports — export any report to CSV from the Reports screen. Spending by Category and Net Worth Over Time are the ones people miss most.
- Transactions — export from Reports for the full range.
Do this before starting deletion, while you still have access.
Deleting
- Open Profile → Danger zone → Delete account.
- Confirm.
Your account is then scheduled for deletion rather than removed immediately. The scheduled date is shown on the banner.
The grace period
Nothing is destroyed straight away. Until the scheduled date you can choose Cancel deletion and everything continues as before — data, budget, connections, subscription.
The delay exists because account deletion is the one action with no undo. A cooling-off window catches the accidental click and the changed mind.
You'll see a banner on your profile for the whole period, showing when deletion happens.
What gets deleted
Everything belonging to your account: transactions, budget and category history, accounts, credit card ledgers, loan terms, rules, reports data, saved import mappings, and your bank connections (which are revoked with the provider).
Your subscription is cancelled as part of this. You won't be charged again.
What's kept, and why
A small amount of information survives, and it's worth being straight about it:
- Audit log entries required for security and fraud investigation.
- Billing records our payment provider must retain for tax and accounting law.
Neither includes your financial data — no transactions, balances, or budget. Retention periods are in the privacy policy.
Changed your mind after the grace period?
Then it's gone, and we can't bring it back. You're welcome to start a new account, but it starts empty.
If you're within the period and the Cancel deletion button isn't working, contact support immediately — don't wait, because the deadline won't.
